New Icom IC-7410 Approved by the FCC

On 12/29/2010, the FCC released the approval information for the new Icom IC-7410 HF (only) transceiver, the replacement to the very popular Icom 746 Pro. I've attached a copy of the test report submitted to the FCC on behalf of Icom for those interested. According to the schedule, the user manual will be released to the public 02/01/2011, so we should start seeing these new rigs hitting the shelves soon! Pricing hasn't been confirmed yet, but educated guesses for the American market have it priced below $2000.

Here is a list of some of the released information on the IC-7410:

  • Uses the same 32 bit floating point DSP and double conversion super-heterodyne system as the IC-7800/IC-7700/ IC-7600 series.
  • 15kHz roofing filter in the stock unit
  • Optional 6 and 3 kHz roofing filters
  • Sharp black and white LCD that is slightly larger than that the previous IC-746 Pro
  • General coverage receiver covering 30 kHz to 60 MHz with a +30dbm 3rd order receive intercept point and ±0.5 p.p.m. frequency stability.
  • Both CI-V and USB ports on the rear of the unit.
  • Built-in simple band scope
  • Built-in automatic antenna tuner
  • Optional RS-BA1 for IP remote control
  • Built-in voice synthesizer announces operating frequency, mode and S-meter level
